as you have all probably heard, something happened in japan in march that turned life upside down a lot of people; i wanted to post some pictures i took after the quake to (perhaps belatedly?) show you that tokyo is not a desolate ghost town as some media outlets would have you believe, and that there is still beauty and smiles here

of course!♥
i used the same camera and lens for all the pictures, a nikon d3000 with a nikon manual lens (50mm, f/1.4). the lens is actually meant for old film cameras, but i love the challenge of setting the apature and focus manually!
manual focus doesn't usually work well with moving subjects but sometimes i get lucky like with that shot ^^

ahh thank you. i have the canon eos 450d and my fav lens is the 50mm/1.8 but with the 1.4 the bokeh is getting even better -> but also the lens is more expensive than the 1.8 one :)

may you can answer me also this question: your photos have such a perfect light, how do you get this? actions?

do you have a flickr/tumblr/blogspot account?

actually i was lucky with my lens, i bought it second-hand here in tokyo for more than half of what and AF lens would cost! there are quite a few good second-hand stores here, it's really great ^^

50mm is such a perfect lens. i have a 35mm one, but i think 50mm just frames things more nicely?

hm, for lighting i work a lot with getting the aperture and shutter settings, but i also edit them in photoshop. but often, if the light is bad in the original picture, i'm not able to fix it even with ps without it looking strange.

i post all my pictures here! http://ohmytokyo.net/ ^^
